Tinkers, Recyclers or Traders?

This new life is about being self-sufficient and Alan being his own boss.  This life which is characterised by peripatetic activity at markets and fairs and clearance sales and auctions will not have the sort of aggravations Alan has endured. His value will be measured by the fruits of his endeavours and the profits he makes by the work of his own hands.
 
My life experience will be enriched by contact with ordinary Australians who are enthusiastic about their collections and possessions and who are so ready to share their life stories and experiences with the strangers who offer them artefacts and objects to buy that remind them of their past lives, add value to their present lives and generally delight them.

Wallangarra is where we will be for the weekend 25/26 September.  I wasn’t going to go with Alan – another 2 day weekend – too hard – but given the historic nature of the place and that it will give me another opportunity to experience rural Australia and in addition see and hear petrol heads at ‘work’ – I had to go along.

Of course I will take along some of my sort of stuff as well… so a lot of bits and pieces that have lived with me for too long and no longer fit in with the rest – or are the bits from ‘boxes’ bought at various points and need new homes.  They will go onto an Omani mat and turn themselves into money in small amounts…
